JDP annually planned for 10th graders joining U.S.History Course in Los Angeles, Fairmont High School during summer vacation before they turn to 11th. Students visit U.S. university, join community service, and experience local daily life. Aside from U.S. course, there will be counseling sessions for entrance preparation of U.S. universities, meeting with guiding counselor teachers, in order to understand the path that best suits one’s own needs and prospectical vision.
As for the course, teachers designed the activities that are student-based, and used questioning pedagogies to make sure students have certain extent of understanding.Having students chosen their own team members, teachers instructed each group to finish assigned reading discussion, visualize the content perceived, and finally accomplish the learning mission!
