During the workshop held on 3/13, Mr. Jon from Fairmont School in the United States discussed the benefits of grouping students. According to him, grouping can promote students' learning ability by either grouping students with different abilities or grouping students with the same ability. Teachers also agree that differentiated learning styles can be beneficial for students, allowing them to study independently or collaborate with others to read together, ultimately leading to a more effective learning process and better learning outcomes. Group activities also have other advantages, such as increasing students' sense of participation, helping them solve problems by working with others, and encouraging brainstorming to generate good ideas.
Another topic discussed during the workshop was the increasingly popular artificial intelligence chat room, ChatGPT. Students can easily obtain high-quality answers by chatting with AI. However, Mr. Jon cautioned that ChatGPT is just one of the many data query tools available and that students should still pay attention to citation principles and academic integrity.
Following Mr. Jon's presentation, participating teachers engaged in discussion with him to explore relevant issues and find ways to improve their students' learning outcomes.
