A Sister School Partnership with Mercedes College for Marine Recreation and Ecology Lessons

The Marine and Ecology lessons on October 19th and 26th are divided into five segments. The first three activities introduced marine recreational activities, marine technology and the marine society. The teachers guided students to observe the marine biological environment from daily marine recreational activities, and to understand the relationship between human economic activities and endangered species. The last two activities introduced marine culture, marine resources and sustainable development. In the online lessons, 51 students from Taiwan and Australia were divided into 8 groups for a discussion and presentation about modern marine issues and the marine sustainability strategies of early aboriginal people. Following the lessons, the students from both sides deeply realized that although there are cultural differences, their determination to protect the marine environment is the same.
