IB Teacher Training and Teacher Visits

ZZSH is preparing for the upcoming IB program by providing comprehensive training and overseas visits for teachers. One of these initiatives is the "Teacher Community Preparation" that takes place every month, covering various topics and spanning almost a year. From February to March of this year, the discussion topics included:

Furthermore, on December 1st last year, IB teachers visited Leysin American School, an American International School located in the mountains of Geneva, Switzerland. The aim of the visit was to learn about the school's teaching philosophy and how they implement the IB curriculum, including theory of knowledge (ToK), creative action service learning (CAS), and extended essay (EE). The school primarily delivers IB courses through individual study or group discussions, with teachers serving as facilitators to guide student thinking and discussion. For example, when students complete a project such as "fundraising for the renewal of equipment in the student lounge", they naturally engage in independent learning, use available resources and technological tools, and develop innovative and entrepreneurial skills.
