This semester, Grade 10 students in our high school's International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Class 117 are actively engaged in online teaching activities as part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) action service, which takes place every Wednesday afternoon. To facilitate their teaching, students are using two Hanlin English textbooks, namely "Here We Go 5" and "Dino on the Go 7," as the foundational teaching materials. They have tailored their teaching materials to suit the weekly progress and individual learning needs of each group of elementary school partners.
The teaching preparation for each group of students covers a wide range of aspects, including text reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, sentence construction skills, and even the exploration of English song lyrics related to topics relevant to their elementary school partners. This initiative allows our high school students to apply their knowledge and skills not only during regular school hours but also in extracurricular learning. Through their weekly lessons and interactions, students are gaining practical experience in demonstrating leadership, which aligns perfectly with the central focus of the IB (International Baccalaureate) program.
