TAIWAN-U.S. JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM (JDP)

(1) Curriculum Framework

 In addition to the ZZSH curriculum, students enrolled in the U.S.-Taiwan JDP are required to take an additional three years of academic English courses, take one to three AP courses, and pass a U.S. History course to complete a graduation portfolio. All additional courses are taught in English. The three-year curriculum is shown in Table 1.

(2) Teacher qualifications

1. Teachers: Internal or external appointed teachers, including our foreign teachers, have the ability to teach in full English.

2. Foreign experts and scholars will come to the school for consultation.Fairmont International School will send senior teachers to Taiwan for one week each time every year to provide professional development training to local teachers.

 

(3) System

1. The two schools recognize each other's common course credits.

2. Students will make up the credits of non-common courses.

3. Students will receive a certificate of graduation from both schools upon completion of their studies at the original school.

 

(4) Student Counseling

1. Student Learning Strategies - Independent Learning / Time Management.

2. Student Learning Consultation - Regular meetings with American teachers.Students create learning portfolios in Naviance.

3. Student Career Development Counseling - Conducting college exploration seminars for higher education for students and parents.

 

(5) Qualification requirements

1. Domestic diploma is awarded in accordance with the High School Education Act and related regulations.

2. Foreign (Fairmont Private School) graduation certificate must:

(1) 3-year GPA (including AP and U.S. History, 5-week study abroad courses) of 2.0 or higher.

(2) Complete 10 hours of community service and 10 hours of international oriented study each year.

(3) Submit a 2000-word document of a high quality English learning history with a history of growth.

(4) Submit TOEFL or IELTS scores prior to graduation to demonstrate graduation eligibility.

 

(6) Admission Requirements

1. Enrollment

About 25-30 students per academic year.
